Culinary Wine Institute provides Internet-based wine training and certification for restaurant servers. Each course is a 15- to 25-minute, professionally-edited video which starts with how wine education will increase your income, offers easy-to-remember concepts and ends with a 15-question exam. The first series (four courses) includes: Red Wine, White Wine, Same Weights-Great Mates, and Level One Table Service. Offerings will soon include additional basics, as well as modules for specific cuisine (Italian, Steakhouse, Asian, etc.) and hotel/resort courses. Pricing at $15 per course or $45 per series (four courses) is extremely reasonable! Upon passing an entire level, a printable certificate will be rendered for the server to download. Discounts are available for bulk orders. A business level certification, which includes window stickers and menu logos, is also available for restaurants who'd like to show patrons their commitment to wine education for their servers.
